About Riviera
Riviera opened in the summer of 2016 in a stunning Art Deco building at 62 Sparks Street — a former Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce branch built in 1869. Chef-owners Jordan Holley and Matthew Carmichael (of the York Street Entertainment group, which also runs Giulia, Datsun, and El Camino) transformed the space into Ottawa's most visually striking restaurant.
The soaring ceilings, marble, and brass create a room that matches the ambition of the food. From the gleaming open kitchen, Jordan Holley and his brigade serve eye-catching fare that ranges from tartares and crudos to freshly extruded pastas. Riviera ranked #28 on Canada's 100 Best Restaurants in 2024 and won the Best Restaurant Bar Award in 2025.
