About
La Nouvelle Scène Gilles Desjardins is Ottawa's dedicated francophone theatre centre on King Edward Avenue. The building houses two studio theatres — the larger at 173 seats, the smaller at 80 — plus a rehearsal studio, a bar/terrace space that holds 200+ for events, and an interior courtyard.
Four Ottawa-based francophone companies produce their seasons here: Théâtre du Trillium, Théâtre de la Vieille 17, Vox Théâtre, and Théâtre Catapulte. Interdisciplinary programming (theatre, music, dance) also brings in companies from across Canada and internationally.
