About CF Rideau Centre

CF Rideau Centre is Ottawa's premier downtown shopping destination, located on Rideau Street one block east of Parliament Hill. The three-level mall has 175+ retailers, an 850-seat dining hall, and direct indoor connections to the O-Train Rideau Station, the ByWard Market, the Westin Ottawa, and the Shaw Centre (Ottawa Convention Centre).

Opened March 16, 1983, the mall is owned and operated by Cadillac Fairview. A major $360M+ expansion completed in 2016 added 230,000 sq ft of retail space.

Shopping

Major retailers include Simons, Hudson's Bay, Apple, Uniqlo, Lululemon, Nike, Canada Goose, Tiffany & Co., Sephora, Arc'teryx, Zara, H&M, and many more.

Dining

The Dining Hall features 16 premium branded eateries with 850 seats — a food court upgrade from the typical mall experience.

Indoor Connections

One of the Rideau Centre's best features — especially in Ottawa's winters — is its indoor walkway network:

  • Rideau Station (O-Train Line 1) — two of the station's four entrances are inside the mall
  • ByWard Market — walk directly from the mall into the market district
  • Westin Ottawa Hotel — connected via indoor walkway
  • Shaw Centre — connected via indoor walkway
  • Government buildings — accessible without going outside

Parking

Three parking garages (Green, Blue, Red) accessible from Daly Avenue and Nicholas Street:

  • $6/hour (up to 4 hours), $22 (4–12 hours), $33 (12–24 hours)
  • EV charging: 8 Tesla Superchargers (P3 level, Green Garage), plus FLO Level 2 and Level 3 chargers
  • License plate recognition technology — no ticket needed

Getting There

  • By O-Train: Rideau Station (Line 1 / Confederation Line) has a direct indoor connection to the mall
  • By Bus: Multiple OC Transpo routes stop nearby on Rideau Street
  • By Car: Access from Rideau Street, Nicholas Street, or Daly Avenue
  • By Bike: Downtown location with bike racks available
