About
The Lone Star HOPE Volleyball SummerFest is Ottawa's biggest summer party — and it has been since 1982. What started as a small tournament at Britannia Beach has grown into the world's largest one-day beach volleyball tournament, now taking over Mooney's Bay Park and Beach every July. It's equal parts sports tournament, outdoor rock festival, and charity fundraiser.
By the numbers: roughly 6,000 players, 500 volunteers, 40 planning team members, and dozens of sponsors and vendors — plus thousands of spectators who turn the beach into a daylong party.

The Volleyball Tournament
Teams compete across recreational, competitive, and corporate divisions, playing for prizes, championship trophies, or just for fun. Every team plays in support of the festival's beneficiary charities. Registration is open for rec, competitive, and corporate divisions.
The Rock Show
SummerFest is as much a music festival as a tournament — a rock show at the Main Bar stage running through the afternoon. All volleyball players get concert access included with team registration.
2026 lineup:
- USS (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker) — headliner
- k-os
- The New Hires (Ottawa)
- The Rambles
- DJ Noah between sets
Set times are posted closer to the event on hopehelps.com.
What Else to Expect
- Food & Beverages — vendors and a beach-side bar throughout the grounds
- Merchandise & Vendors — booths and activities all day
- Family-friendly — children 9 and under get in free with a ticketed adult
