Ukrainian-born, Berlin-based singer and composer GANNA (Ganna Gryniva) blends Ukrainian folk traditions, jazz-tinged arrangements, electronic soundscapes, and live looping in her solo project. Her acclaimed album UTOPIA combines ancestral melodies, ritual songs, and field recordings from Ukrainian villages with modern production, exploring themes of resilience, matriarchy, and belonging.
GANNA has performed at major European festivals including Jazzahead, WOMEX, and Reeperbahn, and toured extensively in Australia at Sydney Festival and WOMAdelaide. She describes her music as “improvised electro-folk with solo parts… a completely new world of sound that draws on both folklore and jazz.”
And accompanying GANNA to the NAC is DIVKA!
DIVKA is a sonic experience using bygone folk songs from Ukrainian and global women's music-making traditions, weaving a sonic constellation of delicate arpeggios on bandura (esoteric Ukrainian harp), ethereal vocals, and guttural ancient invocations on the viola.
As a sonic rebel reckoning, DIVKA's music is charged with mythology, traditional village singing, and generations of femme power, mystic whimsy, and a dash of vengeance.
DIVKA's debut album, "folk fatale," was released on April 2nd, 2026, and you can listen to it everywhere music is streamed.
DIVKA’s live show will be an electrifying blend of Ukrainian + global folk, hilarious girlhood, and ancient invocation.
Bandura, voice, and viola weave haunting harmonies, raw village vocals, and intricate instrumental textures into an immersive sonic journey through stories of resilience, rebellion, and femme power, with a stage presence that’s both intimate and commanding.
Alina Kuzma - Lead vocal, bandura Zoë Ëoz - Viola, support vocals Naghmeh Farahmand - Percussion
The NAC would like to acknowledge the generous support of John and Pina Sicard.
