The Forget For A Moment Foundation and the Ottawa Art Gallery are proud to present and invite you to visit The Creativity of Plants, a digital exhibition of the ARTISTS FOR PLANTS International Call for Artists 2025, that brings together 31 artists from 21 countries in a powerful exploration of the plant world.
Created and curated by Artists for Plants, a global artistic platform dedicated to celebrating and advocating for plants, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the extraordinary capacities of plant life—its resilience, intelligence, adaptability, and enduring presence on our planet.
A global dialogue between art and nature
Selected by an international jury following the International Call for Artists 2025, the participating artists each offer a unique perspective on their interpretation of the extraordinary survival skills of today, yesterday and tomorrow of the plant world. Through a diversity of mediums and cultural viewpoints, their works remind us that plants are not only essential to life on Earth, but also a profound source of inspiration, comfort, and healing.
This exhibition creates a meaningful dialogue across borders—uniting artists, communities, and audiences around a shared appreciation for the plant world.
A world premier here in Ottawa
As the associated Foundation of the 2025 International Call for Art, “The Creativity of Plants”, it is our honour and privilege to be the first to present this unique digital exhibition here at the Ottawa Art Gallery from April 22 to May 24, 2026.
“Our 2025 International Call for Artists is focused on artworks dedicated to the plants who have always been able to respond to all kind of challenges by adopting special survival strategies and healing powers that they continue to invent today” said Sara Michieletto and Silvia Chiodin, coordinators of Artists for Plants, “the survival skills and transformative powers of plants benefit not only themselves, but also other living beings and humans”.
This digital exhibition brings together artists, cultural representatives, community partners, and the public in a moment of reflection, dialogue, and celebration at the intersection of art, nature, health and environmental awareness.
Art, nature, and well-being
At the heart of this exhibition lies the mission of the Forget For A Moment Foundation: to bring nature into healthcare environments in order to enhance well-being and improve quality of life.
By connecting artistic expression with the plant world, “The Creativity of Plants” Exhibition highlights the essential role nature plays not only in sustaining life, but also in supporting emotional, cognitive, social and health well-being.
Visit the Exhibition and experience how art and the plant world intertwine in unexpected and meaningful ways—and discover how creativity can transform our relationship with nature, health, and healing.
Forget For A Moment Performance
As part of The Creativity of Plants exhibition, thanks to the collaboration Artists for Plants, the Foundation is also presenting, the Forget For A Moment Performance, a series of intimate live musical experiences offered in seven local long term care residences. Led by Italian violinist and composer Sara Michieletto, one of the Artists for Plants founder and leaders, each gentle solo violin performance is thoughtfully adapted, creating meaningful moments of beauty, dignity, and calm for residents. Building on the Blooming Moments program, these performances bring together nature and music to foster connection, memory, and well-being.
Supporting the Foundation’s Mission
The Exhibition also marks the launch of the Foundation’s Spring Fundraising Campaign, Creativity of Plants, with a goal of $20,000 to support the delivery of Moments in Bloom programs and JASMA Healthcare Planters in long-term care settings making the benefits of plants accessible to those who need it most without access to the outdoor.
